Banking Security
You want to feel that your relationship with us is secure whether you're
in our lobby or on our web site. Policies, procedures, security and privacy
training, and alert employees protect you in the Lobby. We've taken this
same level of commitment to our presence on the web.
Century Bank researched the best way to offer you the convenience of
Internet Banking while ensuring the integrity of your sensitive information.
The Internet Banking program is housed on secure, state-of-the-art servers,
and all banking activity takes place behind multiple levels of protection
from outside intrusion or interference. Plus, all transmission of data
is protected by 128-bit encryption, the highest form available.
Additional levels of security include:
- Firewalls and a filtering router are used to block against certain
services coming in from the Internet. Each incoming transmission must
be formatted correctly before being allowed past the router and firewall
configuration.
- Neither account numbers nor social security numbers are passed across
the Internet. Instead, pseudo-names are used to reference accounts.
Names can be customized by the account holder.
- After three failed attempts to access an Internet Banking session,
the Internet Banking account is locked out for 24 hours and the bank
is alerted. This deters any person trying to guess your PIN.
- For added security, unique user IDs and Personal Identification Numbers
are chosen by the customer, and can be changed by the customer at any
time.
